Gmail setup

Connect Niyra to Gmail in under a minute. OAuth flow, scopes Niyra requests, and what to do if it doesn't connect.

Steps

  1. Niyra Settings → Connections → Gmail → Connect.
  2. Google OAuth screen appears. Pick the account.
  3. Approve the requested scopes.
  4. Redirect back to Niyra — green check confirms.

Total time: ~30 seconds.

What Niyra can now do

  • Read messages and threads when you ask.
  • Search by sender / date / subject / content.
  • Draft replies in your voice (pulled from your past sent mail).
  • Send replies on your approval.
  • Archive, label, snooze when you ask her to organize.

What she still won't do

  • Bulk read your inbox in the background. Calls are scoped to your active request.
  • Auto-reply to anyone without explicit instruction.
  • Forward mail off-platform.

Reconnect

If Niyra prompts to reconnect Gmail:

  1. Settings → Connections → Gmail → Revoke.
  2. Click Connect again. Fresh OAuth dance.

Usually fixes stale refresh tokens.

First prompt to try

"Triage my last 24 hours of email. Top 5 only, with a one-line summary."

FAQ

Does Niyra read every email?
No. She queries Gmail only when you ask her to do something email-related. No bulk crawling.
What scopes does she ask for?
Start with read + send. Modify (archive, label) is requested only when you tell her to organize. Each scope has its own approval step.
